There are a variety of reasons why people choose to purchase home ice cream machines. With summer right around the corner, there couldn’t be a better time to own one. You can find one at just about any place that sells kitchen appliances. Places such as Wal-Mart, Target, K-mart, and Sears are just a few of the best places to shop when looking for discount prices.

Have you ever thought about how much you spend on your favorite creamy dessert at the grocery store? Most brands cost between $5.00 and $7.00 per half gallon. The majority of home ice cream machines cost between $40.00 and $60.00. Considering that most families purchase ice cream on a regular basis, the savings are definitely worth it. Not to mention, homemade always tastes better to most people. You also don’t have to worry about all of the extra chemicals and preservatives that most other manufactured brands contain.

One of the greatest things about home ice cream machines is the variety available. There isn’t just one particular type. There is the Hamilton Beach 1 1/2 Quart Maker that makes your favorite icy treat within 20-40 minutes. All you have to do is add the ingredients and like magic, your cold treat is ready in a jiffy. If you’d rather take a more old-fashioned approach, then there is the White Mountain 6-quart Hand-Crank machine. With this machine, you get a lot more the old-fashioned way by using a hand crank. The biggest convenience to this particular machine is that you get to choose the texture you want. For creamier icy treat, simply churn a bit more.

Another one of the home machines available is the Play & Freeze 1-Pint Ice Cream Maker Ball. This machine allows you to make 1-quart of your favorite flavor within 30 minutes. It’s also portable, meaning that you can take it anywhere with you. It only weighs 3 pounds, making it the perfect addition for picnicking, camping, and road trips.

If you want more, you might find that you like the Deni Automatic Ice Cream Maker with Candy Crusher. This machine requires no ice or salt, and is automatic, so it’s hassle-free. What makes this machine so unique is that it crushes up pieces of candy into your favorite flavor, and it’s also very affordable.

Sure, you can always purchase your favorite brand at the store or in a restaurant, but what could be better than making your own icy treat at home? Anything homemade is always better, and cheaper.

Hot new research reveals that ice cream, when eaten as part of a healthy diet, may actually melt away fat, helping you lose weight quicker than if you abstained! Plus a dish a day helps you get healthier in other ways according to Marsha Hudnall’s book, THE ICE CREAM DIET.

But before you head out for a couple of gallons of Ben and Jerry’s remember that too much can find it’s way to the hips, belly and other unwanted places.

One of the key benefits of ice cream is that it may satisfy your cravings better than any other food. “When we tell ourselves we can’t have something, we immediately focus our attention on what’s forbidden, which increases our desire and chances of losing control,” says Marsha Hudnall, RD, of Green Mountain at Fox Run, a “non-diet” weight control spa.

A key benefit of ice cream is the calcium it provides. Only 4% of women over 50 meet the daily 1,200 mg goal. The average female calcium intake is only 652 mg. Less than one third of men reach these same goals.

Calcium is also ice cream’s “secret” slim down ingredient. In a recent study, overweight people who took a calcium supplement lost 38% more body fat than those who ate the same reduced-calorie diet without the supplement.

How does calcium help you lose? A diet low in calcium shuts down your body’s fat burning ability, say experts. When your body doesn’t get enough calcium, it triggers fat cells to store fat and get bigger.

So, how much ice cream is “reasonable?” The guideline is a one-half cup serving of no more than 125 calories. My personal favorite is Bryers No Sugar Added Vanilla. It has only 120 calories per 1/2 cup and the flavor reminds me of the “good old days” when we took turns cranking the six quart ice cream freezer full of moms special recipe.

If you want to open a business and become successful in it, you should think about opening an ice cream franchise. The good thing about buying a franchise is that you do not need to do a lot of marketing efforts, especially if it is a really popular company, because you will be allowed to use the brand of a business. This includes name, logo, and so on. But if you will start from scratch, you have to think of a catchy name, a great logo, and a nice slogan so that people will remember your ice cream.

The first thing is to determine your goal and objective in opening a franchise. Do you think there are many people who will buy ice cream in the location where you are planning to put up your business? Are you interested in ice cream? These questions will guide you to do the right thing.

There are several companies or brands that you might want to buy franchise from. You can buy franchise from really popular ice cream brands or from your local shops. Of course, franchise form an internationally known ice cream is more expensive than a local one. This will depend greatly on your budget and what you think people will buy more in your area.

Once you have decided on which franchise to buy, you can now decide on the details of the business. First, you have to choose the location. This is very important. A well-placed business has a better chance to succeed than a establishment hidden form other peoples view. No matter how delicious or how popular your ice cream is, it will not sell if people cannot locate the shop. That is why you should find a good place for your business.

After you have laid out a business plan, you should now go to the company a buy a franchise. These companies will look into your financial status and background and they will decide whether you are capable to buy and run their franchise or not. You have to prove to them that you are capable and very much interested to run their franchise by laying out a well-thought out business plan.

People have been making and enjoying ice cream for centuries, so much so that it is almost considered an art form. No doubt it has changed a great deal since ancient times but the process used today is mostly unchanged for the last few decades. When you make homemade ice cream, of course, you won’t use the same process that big companies use to pump out thousands of gallons of ice cream to be sold in parlors and grocery stores everyday. Your process will be smaller, fresher and have a personal touch.

There will only be a slight resemblance in the taste of your homemade ice cream and the ice cream you buy at the store. Yours will taste much better. The ingredients you are going to use, fruits, nuts and other flavorings are going to be fresh, not mass produced. You will put in your flair, personal attention and care. You will taste the difference in the finished product. Not to mention the enjoyable experience you will have spending time with family and friends making and enjoying your unique ice cream creation.

A good place to start, of course, will be with a good recipe. As you can imagine, there are hundreds of great ice cream recipes that you can use to get you started but you will undoubtedly want to come up with your own as you get more comfortable. Check with family members to see if there are family recipes that have been handed down through the years. The connection to the past is a big reason that many people choose to make their own homemade ice cream. What’s better than having ice cream “just like grandma used to make?”

Once the ingredients are mixed and smooth, load it into the churn or ice cream machine. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions regarding the ice and salt and activate the machine to churn the ice cream. Or if you’re using a manual churn, turn the crank for about 10 minutes to give the ice plenty of time to freeze the cream in the interior compartment. You may need to crank a bit longer if the cream has not set up after 10 minutes.

Once you have completed the “hard labor” put the ice cream in the freeze for a couple of hours to finish freezing into your wonderful frozen treat. The last part of the process is the easiest. Take your ice cream out of the freezer and find some family and friends to indulge in your delicious creation. Now that you’re an expert at homemade ice cream, start planning your next big party or family get together to show off your new skills!

There are some low carb ice creams that can not be technically called “low carb ice cream” due to their cream contents, however, they are still low carb ice cream alike. Fortunately, the ice cream companies are now working hard to provide the ice cream consumers with frozen desserts that have reduced sugar contents, which ultimately reduce the products’ calorie and carbohydrate contents.

And one of the good news that accompanied the production of the low carb ice cream is that most of the reduced sugar desserts really taste yummy. However, there are some studies which noted that reduced sugar does not eventually mean the treat is low in fat. But despite that possibility for the low carb ice cream, there are still some frozen desserts that are both low in fat and carbohydrates.

It is as well interesting to know that many studies about the low carb ice cream have considered that only half a cup of the low carb ice cream is a reasonable serving. However, it is still considerable that even if an ice cream carton trumpets that has low sugar or calorie levels, or has no added sugar, or even has low carbohydrates, they might have probably fat contents that would contribute a bad effect.

One of the noted best recommended low carb ice cream is the Edy’s No Sugar Added Triple Chocolate low carb ice cream. Many who have tasted this low carb frozen dessert have considered it as low in fat, low in sugar, and tastes so yummy. And in fact, there are fudge sauce swirls in this chocolate ice cream. And also of great interest is the Vanilla Ice Cream that can really be considered as a low carb ice cream for the fact that it contains a lower carbohydrates count for two carbohydrates per serving. This particular low carb frozen dessert is made by these ingredients: five egg yolks, a cup of Splenda, 1 and ¼ cups of heavy cream that is whipped.

Everybody loves to eat ice cream in the hot weather. Though millions of people love this sweet, frozen dessert, not very many people know different ways to eat ice cream. Some people go out to eat ice cream just to have some thing to do. Others eat ice cream as a snack before they go to bed. Ice cream is usually really popular thing only in the summer time. The in the wintertime it is usually too cold to eat ice cream. Many people still eat it in the wintertime though. There are many ways to eat ice cream. Most people love to eat ice cream, but some people that are not able to eat ice cream because they are lactose intolerant. They are not even allowed to drink milk; there are other ways people get their calcium though.

Ice cream is some thing that a lot of people use as some thing to eat at birthday parties with their cake. They even make them ice cream cakes now. This way you don’t need to buy the cake and the ice cream, you can just buy an ice cream cake. They are very delicious, and the prices vary on the size that you get. There are many different flavors of ice cream, and they keep making more. The three flavors that they started with originally are chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla. Now they got mint chocolate chip, peanut butter, rainbow, butter pecan, strawberry cheesecake, chocolate swirl, orange cream, and many more flavors too. The flavors of the ice cream matters too. If you are not allowed to eat some thing certain, you should not eat that flavor of ice cream either.

You do not like to eat your ice cream with just a bowl and spoon, make it into a milk shake and use a straw. A milk shake is made with the flavor of your ice cream, some milk, put it in a blender to mix it up, and you got your milk shake. You can use any flavor of ice cream that you wanted to. If you use one that has chunks of stuff in it may be hard to suck it through a straw. Mint chocolate chip would be a good example. The chocolate chips would get stuck in the straw. The milk shake would be excellent though.

There are many other ways to eat ice cream than just in a milk shake. You can get an ice cream sundae too. These are made any way you want them. They have any flavor for them too. Some of the flavors are butterscotch, fudge, peanut butter, and more. You can purchase your ice cream in a cup too. You could pretty much get your ice cream any way you want it. Getting an ice cream cone is the most common way of getting your ice cream. You can get any flavor that you want in it, how ever many scoops that you want in it too. They also have two types of cones the waffle cones, or just the regular cones, when you get your cone if you like sprinkles, nuts, or any thing like that you can get that on your ice cream cone too. Vanilla ice cream is used to make other ice cream treats too. Banana splits are common too. That is another way to eat your ice cream. Root beer floats are very good too. They are now making root beer floats out of other flavors of soda too.

You could take ice cream to work without it melting. It is in a hard candy instead of in a bowl. There are a lot of different ways to choose from to eat your ice cream, but it is all up to you and how you may want to try to eat your ice cream next time. If you are given the chance to taste this great ice cream, you should not hesitate. You will be so impressed with the taste and the excitement that you have with every bit that you take. You will not want to ever have any other ice cream in your freezer than brand ice cream carvel. Share it with your friends and family, or keep it all to yourself, either way, it will be an incredible ice cream experience.

There is no doubt that ice cream is one of the nicest things you can have, in the summer it is possible to eat the ice cream at any time and any place, the beach at home or in an ice cream stand, even more then once a day. You can make delicious ice cream at home, as good as any premium store brand, if you choose a good ice cream maker and follow a few tips. Ice cream makers can range in price from under 0 to over 0. The more expensive models contain built in freezing compressors. The less expensive models are perfectly suited for use in the home and come in two basic types. There is the type that uses rock salt and ice to cool the ice cream mixture and the type that has a canister that is placed in the freezer. Each of these is equipped with an electric crank or a manual crank. Your particular needs will determine which is right for you.

If you want to make a large quantity of ice cream, you will need to purchase a model that uses rock salt and ice. The canister models will only make up to 1.5 quarts at a time. If you would like to turn ice cream making into a family activity, you can choose the hand-crank model, which will also use rock salt and ice. The crank must be turned manually for a fairly long period of time, thus allowing each family member a turn. An electric crank is quite a bit easier than the manual crank models. You will also get more consistent results due to the bowl turning at a constant speed. Most electric crank ice cream makers will have an automatic cut off feature that will stop the motor when the ice cream reaches the desired consistency. The consistency is judged by the amount of resistance while the bowl is turning.

After you choose which type of ice cream maker is right for you, you will need to find the perfect ice cream recipe. Remember that the faster the ice cream freezes, the better it will taste and the smoother the texture will be. It will be best to pre-mix all your ingredients and let them chill for several hours before placing them in the ice cream maker. When your ice cream is done, it will resemble soft-serve ice cream. You can place the canister in the freezer for a few hours and you will be much happier with the results. If your canister is plastic, consider removing the ice cream as soon as it is done, and placing it in a metal bowl covered with foil. The metal will allow the ice cream to freeze faster and become firmer more quickly than in a plastic container.

You can purchase a mix that is quite easy to make into ice cream very quickly. While the mixes are convenient, the best homemade ice cream is made from fresh ingredients. Milk, sugar, eggs, vanilla, and cocoa if you desire will give you the best results. You can find numerous ice cream recipes, some which require cooking some which require no cooking. The ice cream recipes that do not require cooking are generally just as good as the cooked type, and require a lot less time. The best ice cream recipes usually contain eggs; however there are many recipes that do not use eggs if you or someone in your family is allergic to eggs. Nowdays, there are so many different kinds of ice cream makers on the market that you can find yourself a very advanced ice cream maker and use it to invent all kind of flavors and tastes and experiment with your ice cream maker, its lot of fun and on the latest models there is really not much to do.

The very best thing about having birthday cake is the ice cream that goes along with it. This delicious home made ice cream recipe can be made with a few simple ingredients and a couple of coffee cans. Ice cream and cake have long been the staples of birthdays, weddings, graduations and many other types of celebrations. It’s little wonder some culinary genius decided to combine them. Most of the time, ice cream is a delicious dessert all by itself. Filling delicious ice cream between layers of flaky, moist cake allowing the two to melt together is a flavor explosion so good it is sinful.

It would seem that this wonderful combination of two cherished desserts could only be experienced at a restaurant or bought from an ice cream shop or grocery store. Purchasing an ice cream cake can be quite expensive, usually more than a regular cake. But in reality it isn’t that difficult to make a custom ice cream cake right at home and it’s much cheaper. In fact it’s a lot of fun to do. And once you get good at it you’ll probably look for every opportunity there is to make great ice cream cake for your friends and family.

Start with a quart to a quart and half of your favorite flavor of ice cream. The biggest trick to making an ice cream cake at home is to get the ice cream to just the right level of softness. You’ll want it soft enough to mold but not to the point that it is getting melted and runny. So don’t just leave it out for an hour and forget about it. Somewhere around 20-30 minutes should do it. In fact, try setting a timer so you can record the perfect amount of softening time for the next ice cream cake you make. Make it part of your own personal recipe. When you bake your cake, use only about half of the batter. Rather than throwing it out, use the other half to make cupcakes. Follow the directions on the box and remove the cake from the pan and allow it to cool. It should be completely cool before proceeding.

Once you have the ice cream at the right level of softness you’ll need to make the cake using a simple layering technique. Use a deep round cake pan or you can experiment with other sizes and shapes once you are comfortable making the cakes. Bring out your cake and cut it into slabs about an inch thick. Start with a layer of cake on the bottom and then make a layer of ice cream about the same thickness. If the ice cream is at the right softness, you should be able to cut and mold it easily. Continue adding layers of ice cream and cake until the cake pan is full. At this point you’ll want to work very quickly to avoid letting the ice cream melt too much. Always use a layer of cake at the top so you can frost it or use sundae topping or fruit or whatever topping you like.

Now cover the ice cream cake with plastic wrap and put back in the freezer for at least three hours. Once it is frozen, take it out and slice it as you would a regular cake. Now you have an ice cream cake just as good as in any restaurant and for half the price. Are you looking for a unique family friendly party idea? How about throwing an ice cream party? It doesn’t have to be only for the kids. What a perfect way to spend an evening or afternoon during any time of year. This could be a child’s birthday party. Make it just like an old-fashioned ice cream social and invite your friends or neighbors that you haven’t seen for a while to an afternoon gathering at your home.

People have many reasons for wanting to make their own homemade ice cream. It has been done in one form or another for centuries. For many it has become a fun family event to gather the ingredients and congregate on the back porch or in the kitchen to churn up a batch of an original ice cream recipe. When the weather begins to heat up and the days get longer, you get a craving for frozen treats. But not the stuff that you buy in the grocery store freezer; You want the rich, creamy taste that only fresh homemade recipes can offer. An electric ice cream maker is the best choice. But if you don’t have the luxury of splurging on an electric model, a manual machine works just as well. You’ll just have to develop the skills to operate it.

To make these memories become a reality for your family, you’ll need to purchase an ice cream maker for your home. You’re choices are pretty broad. You can get an old fashioned churn that you can work on the porch with family members taking turns working the crank and mixing the ingredients with the ice to make great ice cream. These old fashioned models will definitely take you back to another time in history and an antique maker can really make the experience authentic. On the other hand there are modern ice cream makers that are nothing like the old fashioned kind. There are electric models that are fully automated and they look and function like any other kitchen appliance. You still gather up your ingredients but instead of hand cranking the churn, the device does all the hard work. The gentle whirring sound will let you know your ice cream is being churned. While some of the ambiance of the hand crank is lost you can make a lot more ice cream with a lot less effort.

There are some real advantages to going with the electric ice cream maker. The churning action is continuous and consistent while it is being done automatically by the machine. Because of this the ice cream is made more quickly and efficiently with much less tedium. The machine times the churning and knows when to stop because it can gauge when the ice cream has set up in the interior chamber. With this kind of efficiency you can do much more experimentation of different ingredients and recipes. Everyone in your family can dream up a recipe and try it out. You can whip up several batches of different flavored ice cream very quickly. That way you can satisfy the cravings of everyone in your family or all the guests at your party or barbeque.

Just because you choose an electric ice cream maker that automates the churning doesn’t mean you have to give up the atmosphere and family fun of making your own ice cream. The electric model just takes the dreaded constant churning out of the equation; no body really looked forward to that part anyway. You can spend more time forming your own recipes and ingredients and of course more time sampling your delicious creations. Ice cream makers can be fun to use, can save you money on buying litre after litre from the shops, and will give you an end product that you will feel proud of. They allow you to use your imagination to create new and exciting flavours that you and your family will enjoy, and are a great addition to any kitchen.
